Full Tilt Poker and Pocker Stars each run their own large events that are the online poker equivalent to the WSOP. For Full Tilt, it is called the FTOPS - the Full Tilt Online Poker Series. FTOPS runs 4 times each year and offer some the most expensive and talent filled fields.
Poker Stars runs two different series, on called the WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) in the late summer and early fall and the SCOOP (Spring Series of Online Poker). These two series offer the absolute most expensive, exclusive tournaments in all of online poker. The best of the best play in these tournaments.
In each of the series, tournaments players have the choice to play any type of tournament, from Stud, Razz, Omaha8, Omaha High, Rebuys, Stud8, Limit Hold Em, HORSE and of course Limit Hold Em. However, because of how popular these events have become, they are now attracting the worst of the worst as well.
WCOOP
This tournament series has over 40 events from which to choose. Stud, Stud8, Razz, Omaha8, Omaha, No Limit Hold Em, Limit Hold Em, 2-7 Lowball and rebuy tournaments are all included. The main events of the WCOOP include a $5000 Main Event, where the past 2 winners have taken home over $1 million each. Despite the huge buy in, over 2000 players play this event. The WCOOP is also home to a $10,000 buy in HORSE event. This tournament does not attract many players, but each one is extremely talented. The rest of the tournaments are in the range of $200 to $500, so all players can afford to try their luck at some.
SCOOP
This tournament series is very similar to the WCOOP in the events that it offers. Each event in the SCOOP is divided into 3 different events, all with different buy-ins. The Main event is a $10,000 buy-in, but then there is a middle tier main event with a $1,000 buy in and a low-level tier main event with a $100 buy in. This feature has made it so players will all different sized bankrolls can play.
FTOPS
The FTOPS again is very similar to the SCOOP and WCOOP events. The Main Event is always a $500 buy in, $2.5 Million Guarantee tournament. There is also a $2500 buy in 2-day event that attracts only the best. The other main tournament is a $1000 buy in 1 rebuy tournament. The FTOPS features roughly 25 events. A different Ful Tilt professional hosts each event.
